Wardens and Brethren,

Greeting.

First off, I would like to thank all our Franklin
Lodge Brethren for giving me the opportunity
to serve as your Worshipful Master for 2019.
I started off on my Masonic Journey later in
life simply because I didn’t know I “Had to
Ask”. This has changed, and as our current
Grand Maser told me at a Scottish Rite
event, we can now ask men if they would be
interested in becoming a Mason. Obviously
the man has to be of good character, as well
as meeting other Masonic obligations. As
much as I applaud this move forward, I
prefer to tell good men that they have to
“Ask Us” to become a Brother. It makes us
better than other clubs and organization,
which we are, and ensures the man in
question knows that becoming a Mason is
not an easy task. This year I hope to hold
an open house as well as being included in a
large Westerly 350th anniversary fair being
held in the park this summer. The
attendance is expected to be at 2,000 plus
people and Franklin Lodge will have its own
tent. What better way to “Bring Light” to
Masonry. Last…If you have any ideas,
suggestion or comments please let me
know.

May the Lodge guide both myself and our
Brethren in a positive manner this year.

Fraternally,
Brett Marggraff

Wardens and Brethren,

As our January regular communication
approaches, I have the pleasure of wishing
you all a very Happy New Year even as my
Masonic year comes to a close. But
although we are almost done with the labors,
there is yet one more thing to do.

In our January meeting, we will be raising
Brother Patrick Mahoney-Balestrucci to the
sublime degree of Master Mason. As the
Brothers and I have been working diligently
to squeeze in what practices we can during
the holidays and our own time, I have had
ample opportunity to reflect on the manifold
meanings of our greatest ritual. I think I can
speak for all the present officers when I say
that this is a labor of love and sacrifice,
much like that of our lost Grand Master.

As Solomon's temple bound Israel to God in
both a physical and spiritual way, so too, I
think, does our recapitulation of the story of
its construction bind us all closer together as
Brothers, and to the Great Creator in the
Heavens.

I eagerly look forward to your attendance
and participation in this degree!
Fraternally,
